Megan Fisher

Prior to joining Taggart Law Group, Megan served for more than six years on active duty as a judge advocate (JAG) in the United States Air Force. She continues to serve as a judge advocate in the Air National Guard.

Megan began her military career at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico, where she entered active duty as a First Lieutenant and served as a federal prosecutor handling serious offenses committed by service members stationed on the base. She gained litigation experience in both courts-martial and administrative hearings. She also advised senior commanders on operations law and military disciplinary actions, and she provided legal assistance to service members, dependents, and retirees on estate planning, family law, and consumer protection matters.

Desiring to serve and represent Airmen and Guardians accused of crimes, Megan transitioned to criminal defense work, where she ran her own defense office at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, in a role comparable to that of a public defender. She represented officers, noncommissioned officers, and enlisted Airmen and Guardians facing felony-level courts-martial for sexual assault and other serious criminal misconduct and military-specific offenses, criminal investigations, and career-ending administrative actions. She also defended clients before administrative separation boards, aviation and medical credentialing boards, and ethics inquiries.

Most recently, Megan served as a Senior Defense Counsel at Travis Air Force Base in California, leading a team of attorneys and paralegals who defended service members at installations across the country. In that role, she continued to try complex felony-level courts-martial and challenge adverse administrative and disciplinary actions, and she supervised and mentored other defense attorneys and advised them on trial strategy.

Megan graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia with a degree in Political Science and earned her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she competed on the mock trial team. She is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Georgia.

Admitted in Georgia only.
